Language is the primary tool of communication: it enables learners to understand and establish their own identity.

The Language and literature courses cover:

  • The study of pure language (vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, proper grammar, syntax, spelling and conjugation.)
  • The comprehension and critical analysis of literary texts and journalistic documents; films, images, and visual and audio files.

The course encourages oral and written expression from a personal point of view, based on the ideas of an author, comparison with works from other cultures and creative writing.

Reading is encouraged by the study of literary works of all genres and cultures, from antiquity to the present.
